According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Nottingham Forest have informed Aston Villa that the price for winger Joe Lolley is £15m.

Lolley enjoyed a strong 2018-19 campaign for Forest – scoring 11 times and contributing 11 assists in 46 Championship appearances – and when news of Villa’s interest in the winger first surfaced, most fans of the Birmingham club were pretty keen on a summer swoop.

But Nixon has now claimed that Villa will have to come up with a relatively high bid of £15m, and it would be fair to say that the club’s supporters appear to be against a move for the Englishman at that price.

Lolley had an excellent campaign for Forest but has a contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2023, placing the club in a strong negotiating position.
